I have not used it in any design and probably would not ever consider doing so....but Analog devices has a microcontroller called the ADuC824 which includes a 24-bit 2 channel ADC on board along with a 3 channel 16-bit ADC and a single channel 12-bit DAC. The data page for the device is here.
