why even worry about the price of the ADC?. The price of the PCB with minimum 4 layers and extra thickness of the ground plane PLUS the temeperature compensation circuit PLUS the ultrastable .01% resistors PLUS the highest grade capacitors for filtering will be far more than the price of the ADC anyhow.
It seem that many think that throwing a high bitcount ADC into a circuit gives high precision - BALONEY. Unless extreme care in component selection and PCB layout is taken anything more than 8 bits is an illusion. Erik |
