#59632 - Not true - RTFM Responding to: ???'s previous message |
WHen you compile the Keil program in evaluation version... and burn it in 8051 .... it will not run.... because the program is copied in a portion of the memory which is not first executed. That it not quite True. As I said before, you must read the limitations on the Evaluation version: http://www.keil.com/demo/limits.htm The Keil Evaluation version does place the Reset and Interrupt vectors at the correct locations, but it then locates the rest of the code (2K max) starting at address 0x0800. As it clearly states in that limitations document, "Programs start at offset 0x0800. Programs generated with the evaluation software may not be programmed into single-chip devices with less than 2K Bytes of on-chip ROM." so you if every thing is right even software and hardware The question was specifically "how to use the Keil IDE" - for that specific purpose, the Evaluation is ideal as this issue is of no concern! you first program will not run Nothing will ever work if you use the tools outside their stated limitations! it took 1 month to figure it out. You'd have saved yourself at lot if time if you had read the Manual first! |
