#61230 - RE: using sdcc Responding to: ???'s previous message |
why are you calling it a Liquid Crystal Display display Because I like being redundant. With all kinds of different LCDs available from umpteen manufacturers you can not make code to write on an LCD, It will need to be specific to the brand and model. I have used many different types of LCD's parallel write , serial write, etc. Yes there are umpteen different manufacturers, but probably only three different LCD controllers, therefore there is something to be learned by seeing how you write to specific manufacturers LCD, using C. As always ther is no substitute for reading the data sheets for the hardware that you are using and when you run into a problem, you must refer back to the data sheets to make sure that you have satisfied the timing requirements, etc of the LCD in question. That being said, I still say that example code is useful, even if it does not apply to your particular LCD. Jacob |
