Hi all,

For several days now I'm trying to find information about midi processors based on 8051 microcontrollers.
I have found a lot information on the protocol, interfaces, PC software, midi footcontrollers etc but what I didn't find is a hint how to write software to process midi. A processing algoritme.

There are no problems regarding the receiving and sending of the messages (circular buffers with read and write pointers) but more how to process them.

And : is a 89C51RD2 fast enough? I think so because midi is around for more then 20 years.

Also one basic question : when 2 messages are send is there are a puase between them for processing or are these message send with a pause?

What would be great if someone could share a link to a hardware midi forum (if they excist?).
I couldn't find it and believe me : Mr Google didn't catch much sleep the last few days.
