#63450 - RE: New CPU and old complier Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The compiler I am using was released around 1990. It didn't support some features on new CPU. Nonsense! The whole beauty of the 8051 family is that they all share exactly the same instruction set! The instruction set is the only thing that concerns the compiler - everything else is just a matter of defining the appropriate SFR(s). Since all SFRs work the same, if it can access any, it can access them all! All you need to do is provide suitable definitions for the register names - or just use the absolute addresses directly! The sending data command will be MOV SUBF2, A Your talking about a Compiler, but writing in Assembler - no wonder you're having problems! ;-) my complier (sic) didn't support bit accessible for second uart Is the SCON2 register bit-addressable? |
