#63725 - RE: Should we change forum software? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Re karma:
I believe that anyone replying "write your own code", "try Google", "check the datsheet" would immediately be given a ton of negative points by the requestor, so such a reply would be impossible for anyone caring about the karmapoints. So e.g. Andy would come up as a member with negative karma although his replies are often excellent. Would anyone not familiar with the forum the pay any attention to the replies from mr -1.000.000 karmapoints however relevant and valuable the reply might be. If Karmapoints are to be implemented, they need be checked as to the above and I do not believe that the moderators would have the time to do so. Re: changing to a common forum layout. I fear (justified or not) that if this forum look and feel the same as some garbage fora the anually published "forum etiquette" will be worthless since "when I can use obscenity at a forum that looks this way, of course, I can do it here" Opinion - nothing else Have a good weekend Erik |
