A common solution is to use a 4053 (74hc4053 also) which is a triple changeover switch. Should be very cheap and easy to obtain. If you don't need the changeover feature, look at a 4066. Note that these devices are a 'bilateral switch' rather than a logic function - the signal direction works both ways thereby not altering the port input/output function on the 8051.
