The idea to use ALE as a clock is "generally" OK as long as you can fit it within the ADC0808s maximum clock limitation of 1280 kHz. Remember though that the ALE is missed during a MOVX operation - not a problem if your code does not contain this and even if it contains it, I am sure you can visualize the effects of it.
All said and done I would prefer that you clock the ADC with a pulse train of 500kHz or around that value. 2MHz is way too high ( 1/6th of your 12MHz ). Kalpak has given another solution - try that also. Raghu |
