You are right ,
i am currently using a bounch of i/o for this purpose. but i have had used the ADC0808 before in some projects ,thus i am able to use my available codes. and i had looked in the serial ADCs in example ADC0811 11 chanell serial A2D , but Convertion tooks 32us (faster than ADC0808) and i can use ALE(2MHZ) for its clock ;but i have to write the code to serially communicate with the chip and i am a little in hurry now so i use tested code.
