Although it uses more wires, you might like to look at the Zarlink (nee Mitel) ST-Bus for some ideas:
http://assets.zarlink.com/AN/msan126.pdf There are several similar things from Motorola (GCI?), Siemens, AT&T,... eg, http://www.mvip.org/Specs.htm You might be able to get somewhere combining ideas from these with the Dallas approach for using a single wire... |
