I too would go with the small form factor PC circuit card. If you do some Googleing use a search key of SBC or single board computer. These boards are a piece of cake to get going with a DOS boot disk or flash disk. Development is also rather easy...when I work with these I still use Borland BC3.1. (You will need to keep one desktop development machine bootable from Win98 on order to be able to successfully be able to get BC31 to compole from a DOS box. It falls completely apart under Win 2K and later).
Note also that many SBC's come with a regular HD-15 VGA connector right on the board so attaching a VGA monitor is a piece of cake. Michael Karas |
