I doubt you will be able to check the accuracy of your crystal with a scope...., at least not without the help of additional equipment...

That depends on the accuracy your system requires. What is the required accuracy?

If the only time-reference in your system is your crystal, you cannot adjust for inaccuracies of your crystal. You will need other more accurate references.

Furthermore there is not only the accuracy of your crystal that is important. There is also something as stability of the frequency in time.

Some of the other forum members certainly have a better view on this.

Is your application that critical?
