I don't know how familiar you are with Dallas/Fort Worth (D/FW as it's called). To give you an idea closer to home, Dallas to Fort Worth is comprable to Manchester to Liverpool. Now in that geographic metroplex, put approximately 10,000,000 people (I have no idea if that's more or less than the population of the Manchester/Liverpool metroplex) and no less than 17 additional smaller towns.

Compare that to the ranch. I'll be over two miles from pavement, 5 miles from the nearest stop sign, 12 miles from the nearest store, and just over an hour to Oklahoma City. Here in Dallas, night sounds are sirens, traffic, and the occasional light rail train or traffic helicopter. At the ranch, it'll be crickets, birds and the occassional lowing cattle.

I've lived here in Dallas for 12 years now (since January of 1992). I can count on my fingers the times I've gone to the museums and the zoos. For no more frequently than we do (for example if they bring back the Terra Cotta Warriors and the Xiang Dynasty exhibit or the Treasures of the Hermitage exhibit again), I'll gladly make the drive.
