the EEPROM is optional.so EZ-USB seem not to need the 8051


Te eeprom is not optional.You need to use it because otherwise the Cypress Inf and driver will be loaded. This will make problems if your customers have installed other devices with Cypress or installed the development packages.
The usbcore needs firmware to handle all traffic which is not related to enum or vendor A0 request.
