In the UK, it used to be illegal to use any telecoms equipment that hadn't passed the specific Approvals Test Suite at an Accredited Test House. AIUI, it is no longer a legal requirement to submit equipment to specific Tests at specific Test Houses, BUT it is still illegal to use equipment that doesn't comply with the specs - including EMC, Safety, Environmental as well as all the protocol stuff. Of course, if you haven't done the tests you will be on very dodgy ground trying to defend any prosecution... NB: I am not a Lawyer; do not rely on the above as Legal Advice. |
