Mass market products are often not isolated from teh supply, their designers can afford the efforts to make them pass all the appropriate isolation approvals for double insulated or whatever, and accept the costs and difficulties working with non isolated equipment during the design and debug.
It is much easier, though more expensive, to isolate teh supply with a voltage and current transformer. Steve |
