About one and a half year ago, I migrated from Atmel to Philips sucessfully without any problems. I got lots of help from this Forum members. A big Thank You to all the members.
And now inherently, almost all my new products are based on Philips MCUs.
I had a very bad experience with Atmel ICs (specifically Oriole), and knocked every door at Atmel, and got no replies. Thats past now, I do not want to repeat that whole story again.
Well as far as Philips products availability in Mumbai is converned here is my reply:
There is Philips (India) office near Seepz,Andheri(E), Mumbai. You can talk to them, they are very friendly people.
As far as Philips derivatives are concerned, open up Electronics For You (Indian Edition), Talk to Electromark, they are having most of the MCUs of Philips, talk to them, they will tell you what is easily available now (off the shelf). There are other people also who do keep these MCUs. If you are unable to contact any of them, then send me a request by email, and I will send the contact numbers to you.

With Philips or their representatives, if you guarantee the quantity with the time frame of purchasing the MCUs, then they can stock any MCU from Philips just for you. So talk to them.

Beware, many of Philips MCUs are available in the local shops of Lamington Road. My experience is that 60% of them are pullout MCUs, and you will get a rejection rate of about 40%. So purchase them from proper sources only.
Since this is a public forum, I do wish to reveal the names of companies, but if you request by email, I can mail these contacts to you. I refered to Electromark because I have been dealing with them since last 8~9 years, and they have given every possible support.
