Jez, it will be difficult for you to belive what I am going to say. Just read on...

In my company we have a 80 kVA generator and that has to be operated almost 50% of the time in a day due to power cuts, brown outs, missing phase etc . The cost of this generated power works to almost 3 times the government power, when you account for the diesel, its maintenance and other such costs. Still I gulp it just to meet the production dead lines. The funniest part is this : For every kWh that I so generate, I am supposed to pay a surchage to the goverment alongwith my monthly electricity bill. DO you need any better example for the phrase " Adding insult to injury " ?

It is just that most of us have accepted these as a way of life and adapted to it. Things are improving alright, but I would have expected a much faster pace.
