#71436 - RE: Ethernet with 8051 and 8390 nic Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I guess I wasn't clear... The software is not an issue... simply the interface connections to the 8051 (xmemory mapped). I do not want to share the ram for the NIC with the controller, just use remote DMA via an 8 bit port....
I already have the TCP/IP stack and most everything written with the exception of finalixing the code that is hardware specific... and integrated it into the system, tested it using PPP and the serial port. Everything works but now I want to connect the controllers to my 128 port switch and into the main server net. Without designing the thing myself and sending it to you to show you what I want to do I cannot be more plain. Obviously you are more interested in making us feel stupid than seriously helping someone. Perhaps my time would have been better served trying to figure it out myself... I can you know... just thought I could save some time and not re-invent the wheel... |
