You misundertood what I was talking about. I'm using the Dallas 80C320 MCU, with a PSD813F1 Flash/EEPROM/RAM/ chip.

Soon to be changed to the 834F2 for more RAM.(Once the samples arrive.)

It provides much of the logic that I need without the need for additional chips, my circuit consists of a 74HC14 for reset (the 8051 and 813F1 use different resets !) and 2 x 74HCT574 latches and 2 x 74HCT245 (wired as unidirectional buffers .. to give a broadside pinout, and I already had them !)

The 813F1 provides all the memory decoding and glue logic that I require.

Yes I do mean gates and the like.
