I agree that a student forum will not get much use. For an example of this, compare activity on sci.electronics.design vs. sci.electronics.basics

IMHO, 8052.COM should stick to its specialty, and maybe point people to other forums when they get off topic.

There are other forums like com.arch.embedded and comp.lang.c which address areas of more general interest. Maybe post a link to deja.com, where it is easy to access the USENET forums at no charge. Also, give the names of the forums that people visiting here may be interested in.

The only division I would recommend is 8052 hardware vs. 8052 software.
