#73492 - RE: Thousands of lights II Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It occurs to me that you can order 3000 SOT223 NPNs (2222s, 40V, 1A) on tape and reel for a little over $300 US, and a reel of 5000 0805 resistors for about $20 - $25 more (from Digikey). Is there a cheaper way to control the current to 3000 loads? Make each just an on/off switch, and keep telling yourself, "It's just a model. I don't need dimmer controls."
And by the way, someone should really make sure that the model can dissipate 3.5 kW of heat. Otherwise you may end up with a 3000 bulb igniter. |
