Thanks for the info Erik. Do you have any further information on the Microchip device?

The PDA is a corporate decision, so not much I can do about that, and I need a device with a display to display the information sent to it. In fact, that's pretty much all I'm using the laptop / PDA for - a glorified display, but as we carry them anyway for other purposes, it seems a more elegant /less expensive solution than putting an LCD on my box.
