They are still in the shipping box that Avnet delivered them in so they're fine regarding moisture protection etc.

I decided to use Temic/Atmel's version microprocessor because I like their code security better than Philips. These 600 were for production emergencies and more so for special projects. Our primary product has a nice metal case and user panel. If we take away all the expensive chips and secret software, we can program them as access panel to control locked door solenoids and LAN info via RS422. Not an interesting market to me, too many doing it, but we foresaw a customer asking to get more use out of the iButton ID keys our products use. One day I'll have someone program one of the units for that application. (No you won't find us on www.ibutton.com either).

Speaking of iButtons, I've got a mountain of FOBs (plastic ibutton keyring holders) in varous colors. I got them for about 1/5th what Dallas Semi charges for them. :)
