The last week and a half has been quite hectic with a road-trip from Mexico back to Denver USA for Christmas, the return trip in time to be back in Mexico for New Year's, a snow storm that somewhat complicated the roadtrip and made for some icy travel, and the 8052.com Server Switchover throughout.

Things are finely returning to normal. Just minutes ago I finished modifying the new server such that nightly mailing list has been re-enabled. Everyone on the mailing list should have just received a nightly mailing from 8052.com.

The account pages seem to be working as well. You should be able to sign-up (if you haven't already), logon/logoff, and adjust your profile. If you have any trouble with any of these features please make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser. If you do and it's still not working, please email me and let me know.

I will soon be implementing the feature we've been talking about for a little over a month: Posting a message will require that a user be registered. This should cut down on the spam. While spam hasn't been a huge problem yet, almost any level of spam is annoying.

Also, once user registration is required to post messages I expect to make modifications to the site so that users will be able to post messages using some HTML tags and/or include images in their posts. The fact that users are registered will give me the flexibility to restrict a given user's ability to do so if they abuse this ability to post annoying or offensive messages or images. For the rest of us, the ability to use HTML should be a welcome addition.
