Here's an idea. Choose a few co-sysops and grant them the ability to hide postings if they determine its spam or the like. By just disabling it from common view, no one else is annoyed or affected by either the posting nor the sign in process.
If you wanted to, the hidden messages could be held for you to eventaully delete or restore, or if you wish to delegate further, let the hidden posting be deleted only after 3 or so co-sysops have voted it out. One vote should hide it from annoyance to everyone else. Its probably an easier system to implement and doesn't risk any changes to most everyone's access. And, here an idea Steve was about to have... :) As a co-sysop (I'd nominate him) give him the ability to hide a question asked where someone hasn't bothered to look at the MESSAGE SCAN. aka j |
