Signing up for membership will not be much of a hassle. It's free and fast. I've also visited a number of message forums on other subjects (CNN, USB, DSS, etc.) and have yet to find a forum that doesn't require the exact process that we will be using here at 8052.com for user signup as a prerequisite to posting.

I agree, the way it has been is easiest. But the "days of innocence" for 8052.com are coming to a close since apparently spammers have found us. Even in the old days of BBSing we had to logon to the system with a username and password before posting in the message bases; so I think this will be very similar. And if you don't want to post, there will be no need to login.

Feedback to minimize the hassle of security is welcome, but I do believe we need to have security at some level. Again, this will give us the added benefit of being able to include embedded HTML, images, links, etc. in the messages.
