It depends how do you want to connect and use them. For example LCD can be connected as memory mapped device or may just be driven from port pins. It can be used in 4-bit mode and also in 8-bit mode.

So you need to study these devices and specifications for IDE, PCMCIA, interfacing methods and then have to work out how you are going to use them in the firmware.
