#79918 - RE: Isolated power supply Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Guys - we're only talking about a low voltage dc-dc converter! I get worried when we have people asking about 3phase motor drives and recently one guy wanting to know how to drive a mosfet for a on line 100W motor - the risk of things blowing up is high. We're talking about 24vdc here and whilst caps can blow up and ic's pop their top (I always look away when I power something up or wear glasses). In this instance a simple ringing choke converter with a few windings for the various outputs followed by some three terminal regs would most likely 'do the trick'. I'm probably at the same risk with move EVM board popping an ic or capacitor if the psu decided to 'go west'. Or maybe, I just like a bit of danger!!! |
