My thoughts concerning the RTOS discussion that just dropped off the list brought up thoughts on something else:
Does anyone know the source of the "Real C programmer"s morbid fear of global variables. I have seen variables carried and returned through seven layers of function calls and returned the same way where a simple global variable would have saved the hassle. I have seen a project where 1000 variables were in a struct in main() with a pointer to it carried all over the place, which, in effect, created global variables requiring two level addressing.
