Erik, I think you'll find there as many definitions of "real 'C'" as there are 'C' programmers. Some will tell you global variables are evil, others will tell you they are great, etc.

While 80% of 'C' programmers may claim to use "real 'C'", I doubt 80% of 'C' programmers would actually agree on exactly what that is.
