I ported the software to an AVR atmega8 ( for some commercial reasons) and I found the software to be twice longer that for at89c2051; As George Maccayev hints, does that show a deficiency in the AVR, or just that you are much better at programming 8051s...?! ;-) As I've said before, software that's been ported from another architecture will (almost) invariably be less efficient than code that's been specifically designed for its target architecture. |
