#82155 - Linux Simulators Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Second there is 8051sim which can be downloaded from http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/...tware.html but I have not yet been able to get it to compile which may be just because it is about six years old.
------------ Although it says it's for Linux, I can't imagine what version of Linux it was meant for. The compile errors I get make me think it was written for DOS, not Linux. It is rather old and many errors seem to be to do with library calls. Also the tab makefile has an error where it tries to change the permissions to a file before it is created. At one time, I began writing a Linux GUI 8052 simulator. Never finished it because other things came up that had higher priority. If anyone thinks I should finish it, email me privately. If there's enough interest, I'll up the priority. It uses SDL, so should not be difficult to make it multi-platform. (BTW, it's simulation speed is really fast.) I would be very interested in this. I also started to write one using the gtk toolkit but like you gave it up when other things came up. I would be happy to help with the design and/or coding if you wish. By the way, what made you choose SDL? Ian |
