#82550 - Lazy windoze programmers Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have had to do this on a number of occasions when some crazy app only supports COM1 -> COM4 As I said before, this is pure laziness on the part of the windoze application; there is absolutely no reason why it should arbitrarily restrict its range of COM: port numbers! http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=82533 http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=72885 Still, it's good to know the workaround - as there's a disappointingly large number of such stupid applications! :-( |
