In Centronics Standard You will need two free Ports , One for a data and one for Driving controls lines. There are actually 3 ports. 1) 8-Bit for data 2) 4-Bit for control 3) 5-Bit for status (Paper End, Error, Busy etc.) Newer Parallel Port’s are standardized under the IEEE 1284 standard first released in 1994. |
