#84130 - JPG processing time Responding to: ???'s previous message |

First off, before you start implementing JPEG decoder on '51, take into consideration that this is quite a heavy computationally task. I've never looked at the format of JPG but I came to the same conclusion when I downloaded some graphics display software for my Palm m130 and slapped in a Secure Digital card from my digital camera and wanted to look at the pictures on the Palm. It works, but it's slow. I think it took about a minute to render an image taken by my camera. Newer Palms display JPGs from SD cards much faster. I assume the newrt Palms have some supporting hardware to do that or maybe are even using a different processor than my m130 has. Regards, Craig Steiner |
