If its a non-military job, just use a decent IC socket, and service won't be an issue. We always use high spec turned pin sockets. In fact, you can get rather nice PCB mounting turned pins that fit directly in the PCB, for ultra-low height applications.
You are, however, screwed, if the chips are SMT. Steve |
