#85181 - Striped Apron Award! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As they other guys have said it was fairly common practice for memory expansion - I had ic's stacked 4 high for 1MB of ram in my Macintosh (265Kbit drams). If it's for a one-off project, EMI shouldn't be a major concern, heat maybe. Having said that, the connection paths are shorter than what you would have on a pcb. So if ya gotta do, do it! For a commercial product I would think it would be a little rough. BTW: butchers used to have striped aprons - butcher is also slang for someone that does rough work. |
