Hello all,

I have encounted a problem with the reset feature on the 89S51.
The micro is configured to reset on start up using the standard RC network, and also reset on an overflow of the watchdog timer.
I am sure that the WD timer is being refreshed in time.

Also, the chip seems to stall or pause for a short period (this is not called for in the code) before continuing as it is supposed to, note that when this happends it does not reset.

Is the 89S51 a "stable" micro that can be used for long periods in industrial applications? or is it prone to upsets.

I am using a switch-mode power supply to power the cct.

If anyone has any ideas on what causes this and how to overcome it, please let me know.
