#85718 - Power on reset Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If I am to understand the problem correctly - on power-up everything is ok, but when reset is pressed, the display goes into a 'coma'. If this is the case - the lcd has it's own power-up reset, when you do a manual reset, the lcd is still initialised but may have been interrupted in a command when the manual reset occurred. Therefore you need to ensure as part of your lcd initialisation that the lcd controller is in a known state. Did I make this clear? There is a similar issue when using standard character lcds in 4bit mode - the data sheet specifies an initialisation sequence to ensure the lcd is in a certain state - ignore the special sequence and the display will work from power up but not manual reset. |
