"How many wires does the motor you are using have coming out of it. A unipolar can be wired as a bipolar, but not the other way round." This is the post that I was commenting to you on. When you wrote this you did not know that the motor in question is a 4 lead motor at least I hope that you did not know. The statment "A unipolar can be wired as a bipolar, but not the other way round." Is incorrect as some but not all motors (8lead)can be connected for optimum performance both ways Terry Surely if its got 4 wires it can only be a bipolar motor ? I haven't seen a 6 or 8 wire bipolar motor. Do they exist? If its got more than 4, then it is odds on its unipolar, which must have 6 or 8 wires, and can then be wired either way. |
