How it "does not work"?

You mention "distort pulses" - it means, you can measure some pulses on some pin? Which pin? And can you describe the pulses? Amplitude, on and off time, perhaps shape if it is not perfectly square? Perhaps you can capture a picture somehow and post it? How did you test it - using an oscilloscope? How do you program your part - are you sure it runs the code you programmed?
By the way, did you notice that Mehdi made the same error with using direct operand instead of immediate (missing #) when setting TMOD?

Too many questions? Try to answer them and maybe you find the problem yourselves...
