We used to have a standing policy back in the 80's of firing digital design engineers that brought schematics to design meetings containing 74LS121s. It was known as a bandage for poor digital timing design.

And you won't find many chip manufacturers making that chip in this decade. You have to stock up on these chips by removing them from scrap boards from the 70's.
