#88693 - The point
Responding to: ???'s previous message

i know its a drop in replacement but whats the point. The 8751 has exactly the same pins as the T89C51RD2. currently T2 is acting as P1.0 to enable/disable the motots, T0 is setting the baud rate and T1 is a 60hz clock on pin 3.4 but i need a second timer. i was hoping there was a way to program the micro so i can use P1.0 to enable/disable the motor driver, T1 for the clock but have T0 to set baud rate while being a second timer at the same time. i need 2 clocks to step two motors independantly.

I think it may be because with each post a bit more info is supplied. Originally you wanted two timers and 9600 baud on an 8751 which only has 2 timers. Next you say you are using T2 which you only get on an 8052 upwards and you mention some motors.

Anyway, 60Hz is damn slow so, depending on how much jitter you can stand on the output and the resolution of the phase between the two 60Hz signals, you can just run one timer at say 600Hz and create both 60Hz signals in the ISR.
