i just read the query of AARON STEVES POSTED ON 8th march. we are doing something of the same kind. in that you people have said that current reqd is around 400mA. 1) DOES that mean EACH AND EVERY PIN ON 40 PIN CONNECTOR SINKS THAT MUCH CURRENT? 2) OR IS IT THE OVERALL CURRENT REQUIREMENT OF IDE DISK? 3) WE ARE NOT POWERING THE HDD FROM MICROCONTROLER (DS5000). WE ARE USING SEPARATE SUPPLY FROM SMPS (5 V)TO THOSE THICK POWER LINES(WHICH ARE ON THE RIGHT OF 40 PIN CONNECTOR IN HDD). WILL IT BE SUFFICIENT? OR WE'D NEED TO USE CURRENT AMPLIFIERS ON EACH PIN?!! reply please. thanks HEMANT |
