#89958 - Xeltek Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I had a couple of those old Xeltek silver UniPro's (I think that was the name, but I could be mistaken). The first one smoked horribly when a 1w or 2w resistor overheated. I opened up the 2nd one and replaced the resistor with a 5w. It worked for a few more years before it eventually let the smoke out too. This was during the windowed EPROM days. We also has a SuperPro and it worked very well. So I'm kind of 50/50 on the brand.
We've had good luck with Needhams, but are now finding that they don't support some of the newer parts we are using (consider my ICP thread of a few months back). I don't like the SIMM thingy they use, but it's not a show-stopper. Now, we may buy one of those B&K 866's because they are in fact made by Elnec (and hence support the LPC9xx ICP). This is a good thread, I'd like to know what other device programmers the forum user's have experience with... GB |
