The concept Kai expresses is much the same as one popular here in my state where politicians think that making ethanol to mix 10% into gasoline is a great idea for saving dependance on oil! They seem to forget that it takes oil to run the farm operation that produces the corn from which the ethanol is produced. They also seem to forget that it takes either electricity, coal, or natural gas to run the facilities that produce the enthanol. And finally they forget that a prime source of the materials to make the fertilizer to feed the corn in the first place comes from oil. Dah....what a dumb idea.

We should be using corn to feed hungry people instead of making ethanol to burn up in cars.
