As is the case port 0 needs external pull up resistors to pull the output to high or low. The problem is that the lcd doesn't work when pull ups are connected. The output at the port is neither high nor low, it give an intermediate value of 1.2-2.5 volts. Then your pull-ups are much too high ohmically? In order to achieve fast rise times you would need rather low pull-ups in combination with relevant capacitive load. In such a case I would use a different port, a port which provides internal strong active pull-ups to make high level states. Kai |
