I was recently on a flight getting ready to take off, when they gave the standard speech about turning off electronic devices, etc., and everyone makes sure that there phones are turned off.

One guy is carrying on a loud conversation on his phone. The flight attendant reminds him to turn it off as she is walking by. A few moments later she turns around and comes back, as he is still talking loudly. She has to stand there and ask him again a few times before he tells the person he is talking to, "I gotta go now."

THAT was really annoying to everyone around him.

Also, when we landed, they did announce that you could turn on phones while we were taxiing to the terminal.
